Psalm 91 uses the word deliver three times. The last instance of this word is found in verses 15-16.
“He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him, and
show him My salvation.”
This is the third Hebrew word that is translated “deliver.” This word means to deliver by equipping for battle. God is saying here that not all
deliverance comes by avoiding it or being snatched out of it. As we grow in God, we will find that much of the time, God expects us to go through the
storm using the equipment His has provided for our deliverance.
God promised that He would be with us in trouble, but He did not promise that He would keep trouble from finding us. He equips and empowers
us to stand up to times of adversity without being swayed or stopped.
Notice what Second Corinthians 10:4 says: “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds” (NKJV).
Our fight is not with weapons of flesh and blood; rather, our weapons are found in the equipping that comes through the Word and prayer.
When our words and prayers are filled with God’s Words, we release His power. That’s when we use the Word like the sword it really is. We are to wield
its power with skill, and impose God’s will and His Word on the circumstances that confront us. Our own words will become mighty tools and weapons
in spiritual battles, launching an attack that darkness will not be able to withstand.
The following verses are powerful promises that we can use to conquer our enemy.
“But no weapon that is formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that shall rise against you in judgment you shall show to be in the wrong. This
[peace, righteousness, security, triumph over opposition] is the heritage of the servants of the Lord [those in whom the ideal Servant of the Lord
is reproduced]; this is the righteousness or the vindication which they obtain from Me [this is that which I impart to them as their justification],
says the Lord” (Isaiah 54:17 AMP).
“And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater
than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand” (John 10:28-30 NKJV).
“Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us” (Romans 8:37 NKJV).
“Oh, love the Lord, all you His saints! For the Lord preserves the faithful, and fully repays the proud person” (Psalm 31:23 NKJV).
We must fill our words with God’s Words and declare that He is our Deliverer and no weapon or strategy formed against us can prosper!
Remember, we have God’s angels working diligently to surround us with all of His resources and protection. Isaiah 41:10 are His words to us no matter what
situation we face in this life: “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will
uphold you with My righteous right hand.”
