Explore With Your Imagination

Within every person alive there lies the power-packed ability to imagine. The human imagination is an inspiring and motivating force. As we practice meditating
on God’s Word, the inborn creative power of God will be released from our spirits into our imaginations.

Many great ideas have been born into the world because a believer used his imagination. On the other hand, perverse and corrupt things have happened as
a result of a corrupt imagination. That’s why it’s vitally important to keep God’s Word in our hearts and minds.

The unregenerate man has powerful potential through the use of the imagination. Problems arise when the source of ideas is not based on the thoughts of
God. The potential ability an unregenerate man possesses with his imagination is revealed in Genesis 11:6: “And now nothing will be restrained from
them, which they have imagined to do” (KJV).

On the other hand, just think about what is available to the person born of the Spirit of God who will allow the Holy Spirit to transform and shape his
imaginations. The possibilities are limitless! We are capable of getting an inner picture of the Word of God working on our behalf before it actually
manifests outwardly. And that is exactly what God designed our imaginations to do. Once we can see it on the inside, it will eventually manifest outwardly.
Isaac was born only after Abraham and Sarah were able to imagine what God had promised them. As we meditate God’s promises, we will begin to see ourselves living in the fulfillment of them. This creative ability of the imagination will provide us with matchless
benefits.

In our time of meditation, we must set aside a time to exercise the creative ability God has given us ─ imagining ourselves doing what the Word says. We
can see ourselves laying hands on the sick and Jesus healing them through us. We imagine ourselves living with the abundant provision God has promised,
having all sufficiency and able to give unto every good work. We can imagine our families living in harmony, without strife. We can picture ourselves
highly favored in our places of employment. We can envision ourselves free from those old habits.

Many Christians have not used this creative power of the imagination thinking it was wrong because Second Corinthians 10:5 says, “Casting down arguments
and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing
every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.”

Notice we are not instructed to cast down all imaginations, only those thoughts that are “against” the knowledge of God. Those imaginations must be taken
captive. How do we take a thought captive? The same way a thief is taken captive, by arresting it. Put a stop to it. Then force those thoughts into
a rehabilitation program on the Word of God until they are transformed. Wrong thoughts are thieves, they will steal the promise of God from us; they
will steal our joy, our families, our finances, our health, and our lives if we allow it.

On the other hand, we are supposed to exercise our spiritual imaginations in order to exalt the knowledge of God. Imagining ourselves healthy and prosperous.
Picturing ourselves favored and happily married. Envisioning our children serving the Lord. As we activate our spiritual imaginations, it won’t be
long before we possess what God has promised.
