The deep, heartfelt desire of God is that His will be expressed in our character and behavior. If we are to hear and understand clearly what God is saying, then there must be continual strides toward positive spiritual progress.
Notice from First Corinthians 2:9-10 what the Apostle Paul says the Lord has revealed to us through the Holy Spirit:
“But it is written: ‘Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.’ But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.”
The Holy Spirit is the revealer. When we become sensitive to His leading and instruction, He brings us under His government. His desire is that we give Him control of our lives in a positive manner in order to accomplish two things. First, the Lord will bring us into the most satisfying and fulfilling life imaginable; life with a continual flow of peace, stability, and success in our endeavors. Second, He will make us into a powerful tool of His love that expresses His desire to bless the lives of others.
Isn’t it beautiful to realize that God has a purpose for us? He has prepared such great and wonderful things that we could not even begin to grasp them without His help. God’s desire for our progress is so great that the natural mind would not entertain the thoughts of how far God will take us.
Now look at First Corinthians 2:14: “But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”
Under the Old Covenant, the people could not even conceive of these things. But today we have been given the Holy Spirit to reveal all the things God has already prepared for us. Read verse 10 once again from The Living Bible: “But we know about these things because God has sent his Spirit to tell us, and his Spirit searches out and shows us all of God’s deepest secrets.”
It takes an attitude receptive to the Holy Spirit to understand the things God has provided for His us. We can open ourselves to receive an unveiling of all God’s secrets. The spirit of an adventurous pioneer is not satisfied with his present understanding; instead, he presses on toward deep spiritual achievement.
The question is will you allow the spirit of an adventurous pioneer to move you toward a deeper life in God? Do you desire to see and hear the things that God has already prepared for you? God has given you His Spirit to reveal them to you. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you the deep things of God and begin your life of adventure today!
